The Boat Club was founded in 1937 as a community gathering space for the town of Iowa Falls. It has
   been the location of countless reunions, weddings, parties and more. In 1991, The Empress was brought
   to Iowa Falls from the Wisconsin Dells. She has been proudly cruising the Iowa River ever since, bringing
   people from all over the world to Iowa Falls.

   In 2012, the Scenic City Empress Boat Club's renovation and restoration projects were completed.
   Recycled plastic tables and benches were added to the riverfront in 2009, making it the perfect space for
   picnics and outdoor parties. The Empress has received several updates to keep her in good condition,  
   including new pontoons, new motors and new decking. 2011 saw the restoration project of the Boat Club,
   which rebuilt the foundation of the building and renovated the entire lower level. Each of these projects
   has helped ensure that the Scenic City Empress Boat Club can continue to be a shining light in Iowa Falls.
